500RYT Hatha Yoga instructor
Certified Restorative Yoga Instructor.
I started yoga in 1997 at an Iyengar studio in Boonton and really enjoyed the practice, especially the physical alignment of the poses. I continued practicing various types of yoga for many years and in 2018 I enrolled in a 200-yoga teacher training and the following year started 300 hours of yoga training, which I completed in 2020. Additionally, I have 30 hours of Restorative yoga training and an MA in Anthropology
For me, Yoga is a mind and body healing practice it gives me permission to be myself on my mat and do what I feel that I need in that moment, so the practice keeps me present connecting my breath to the pose. I can’t worry about my laundry or what happened yesterday, only what is happening now. I truly enjoy teaching and strive to bring that calmness I feel in my own practice to my students through movement and breath. Yoga is 5000 years old, so there is much to be learned and I look forward to continuing with learning and bringing my knowledge to my students.
